The Office of Colorado’s Child Protection Ombudsman works to improve the safety, permanency and well-being of Colorado’s children by investigating complaints, delivering recommendations and driving systemic reform in the child protection system.

We operate independently from all of Colorado’s child protection agencies.

We act as a neutral fact finder and are charged with conducting investigations in an impartial manner, free from initial bias or conflict of interest.

We do not disclose any identifying information without your permission unless it is necessary to address imminent risk of serious harm.

We cooperate and collaborate with the public, law enforcement, medical professionals, human services and other child protection agencies to ensure safety and to identify gaps affecting service delivery to children and families within the child protection system.
